Q.
Do I have to throw bed bug infested furniture away?
A.
No, don’t panic! Although bed bugs are annoying, you can get rid of them. In the majority of cases, it is not necessary to dispose of furniture,
prior to treatment. Throwing furniture away and buying new mattresses won’t solve the problem. Most infested furniture can be cleaned and treated.

Q.
Do I have to wrap furniture/mattress prior to disposing of them?
A.
Yes, you should first vacuum the items in question. Then you should deface it-making it less attractive for others to pick up.
Finally, to prevent bed bugs and/or their eggs from being knocked off the furniture in uninfested areas, the items that your are discarding
must be wrapped in plastic or placed in impenetrable encasements prior to removing anything from your apartment.
This will prevent bed bugs from spreading into other homes. Best if you hire professionals to do it for you.

What Do Bed Bugs Look Like?
A.
Adult bed bugs are reddish-brown, flightless insects around 1/4" long. They’re flat when unfed and football-shaped when engorged with blood.
Nymphs (babies) have similar heads, mouthparts and bodies as adult bed bugs, but their coloration is very different. They’re tan in color and
bodies translucent. When a bed bug molt to adult stage, they are sometimes waxy in appearance and more orange in color.

Q.
How Do Bed Bugs Get Into A Home?
A.
Bed bugs wander between adjoining apartments through voids in the walls and through holes around shared conduits. Bed bugs are easily
carried by humans from place to place because they “hitchhike” on personal belongings such as luggage, furniture and
mattresses, sometimes even clothes. Bedbugs do not normally travel on a person’s body.
